SINUS LIFT SURGERY THROUGH A BONEMODEL

Such a surgery certainly involves some different elements that may hinder success. But why though? Well, we could probably argue that sinus lifting is about accuracy and detail because some dangers are implied. At the end, perhaps all depends on the surgeon expertise.

One of the greatest milestones in the history of this kind of hands-on is the use of eggs, which is a very creative solution, with no doubt. The strength of the egg lies in the membrane: it is a real one or, at least, a natural one, so the trainee may have an organic experience. It should be pointed out that this egg inner membrane is more resistant than the human one (the schneiderian membrane) and less skretchable. So, from this point of view, the trainee experience does not seem to be as accurate as it should be, not to mention the evident lack of human anatomy.
The use of pig’s heads is a very common practice around the world. Its first advantage: it is quite similar to the real human experience, regarding densities and textures. However, it may become an unpleasant experience for the trainee. Specially if no cold light is available, which may result in a strong smell of cooked meat. What if that single trainee is a vegan?
